UBCO is a brand of dual electric drive utility motor bikes primarily based in Australia & New Zealand that takes pride in transforming the way you ride. Being a utility vehicle it has a lightweight frame and is powerful, while also giving customers the opportunity to purchase various tools and accessories for the bike.
We worked with UBCO to initially help create an accessories box for the bolts and nuts. After the success of the first box, they were very impressed with the sleek design and functionality of the corrugated material used. This led to UPD designing and manufacturing the whole range of accessory boxes. In total, 11 different SKUs.
The brief included structural design of the outer packaging, as well as specific inserts to hold the products. With the range of boxes containing different accessories, we adapted the artwork and design to multiple sizes and shapes. In terms of manufacturing the cartons, the right board grade and lithographic print was used to be able to make the artwork stand out to it’s full potential.
UBCO being a minimal and sleek industrial brand, we chose to go with simple graphics with a single coloured black print on the kraft lined corrugated material for their packaging.
In any case of production, UPD takes utmost care in managing the process from brief to delivery. The quality control is personally supervised by our staff at the factory to ensure the smooth running of the process. As the bike manufacturer’s warehouse is located in China, we were able to successfully produce:
- 5,000 boxes for the ANZ Market
- 20,000 boxes for the USA Market
All in all, the project was a great example of how corrugated packaging is a viable option and can be customized to suit the product.
